About Tyler Jones

I grew up in church, but for many years I simply went through the motions. Baseball was my world; I played my whole life and eventually at Sam Houston State University. My life moved fast and was driven by selfishness, pride, addiction, and bitterness.
In January of 2012, I became a believer. But it wasn’t until my first wife left me and my son in 2018, when I was 28, that I began to truly wrestle with surrender. Still, I didn’t become obedient until September 14, 2023.

That day, the Lord called me to obedience. He spoke audibly to me on Keukendaul Road, as I was driving toward Highway 99. He told me to turn into a gas station (a Time-wise) and this is what He said:

“Where I’m taking you in leadership, you can’t be an addict. Deal with your addiction and break free. This is your Father giving you life so you can give life to others. Until your addiction is broken, you will fail to fix what is broken.

You have felt lost, facing a wall you couldn’t break through, but I have set you free. I love you.

Sometimes what you’re unwilling to give up is what’s keeping you from leading. The power of leadership comes from overcoming your darkest sin. Admitting that sin is the first step to healing what’s broken.

‘For you were not given a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and a sound mind.’

How can you walk in the power of leadership if your mind, spirit, and soul are bound by addiction?

I did not come to condemn the world but to save it; and to give life, and life abundantly.

To walk in favor means to carry the cross and ‘walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received.’”

The root of all my sin was addiction. But that day, the Lord set me free.

Since then, I’ve been walking in obedience. Today, I work for RTI, a place where broken men come to be put back together. We’re not just after roofs… we’re after souls.

Specialized Topics

Three areas of deep interest that I can speak on:

The importance of obedience: many say they believe God, but do they OBEY Him?

Leadership means serving: real leadership is measured by how much you are willing to serve…

Boldness: are you walking in the boldness Jesus gave you, or still standing behind the veil He already tore?
