The Official Mental Health Coach of C-Suite for Christ
The Mental Health Crisis Facing Executives
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” .” — Micah 6:8
Leadership comes with extraordinary responsibility—and extraordinary pressure. CEOs and executives are often isolated at the top, forced to make difficult decisions that impact countless lives while maintaining the appearance of strength.
The result? Silent suffering. When compared to the general population, business owners are more likely to experience mental health events, as follows:
- Depression – 30% higher
- Substance use – 12% higher
- Bipolar disorder – 11% higher
- ADHD disorder – 29% higher
In addition,
- 30% of executives report symptoms of two concurrent conditions, such as depression, anxiety, or burnout.
- 18% report three or more concurrent conditions
- 75% report being concerned about their mental health
Mental health struggles among executives are not the exception; they are the norm.
If we are going to cover the world in Christ, we need leaders who are mentally and emotionally healthy, aligned, and equipped to serve Him at their very best.
Meet Bill English
C-Suite for Christ is proud to introduce Bill English, the official Mental Health Coach of our global movement. Bill brings a Christ-centered approach to executive wellness, helping leaders achieve one thing that changes everything: alignment.
Why Alignment Matters
Without alignment, leaders live fractured and conflicted lives—pulled in different directions, exhausted, and vulnerable to burnout. Sometimes, owners find the time needs of their marriage is in conflict with their business calendar or they find their workload precludes them from spending consistent, quality time with God. But when executives align their calendars, processes, culture, marriage, family, and time with God, their personal effectiveness and the success in their business is increased tenfold or more.
As a result, they
- Gain control over their time, allowing God to lead them instead of organizational demands driving them
- They build strong marriages and families, learning to lead their business from the overflow of love and goodness in their marriage and family
- Because they are more emotionally healthy and present, these owners build better processes and cultures, which naturally lead to increased sales and profits
- They draw close to God, learning to worship and praise him in everything they do; bringing glory to the One with whom we all will spend eternity
Alignment with Christ is not a program you implement—it’s just education, it is transformation of your persona. It’s learning how to think theologically before you think professionally. It’s learning that your covenant with God is the most important relationship you have and everything else flows out of your love for God. It’s about unleashing the full potential that God has already placed inside you.
What Bill Offers
Bill’s role is to coach and guide executives toward renewal through the power of Christ. He works to align the following areas so that those areas are not working against each other, but in concert with each other. He creates a safe, faith-based environment for leaders to:
- Deepen their walk with God.
- Strengthen their marriages
- Generate higher profits
- Gain more free time
Bill’s approach is clinically sound, Biblically centered, and street-wise in business.
Admitting one needs mental health assistance is not a sign of weakness: It is the Biblical way to lead:
- The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice. (Proverbs 12:15 ESV)
- The simple believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps. One who is wise is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is reckless and careless. (Proverbs 14:15–16 ESV)
- Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice. (Proverbs 13:10 NIV)
- Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. (Proverbs 19:20 ESV)
- Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. (Proverbs 13:20 ESV)
- Better was a poor and wise youth than an old and foolish king who no longer knew how to take advice. (Ecclesiastes 4:13 NIV)
Removing the Stigma of Mental Health
Too many executives hide their mental health struggles out of fear, insecurities, or shame that often come from childhood wounds and trauma. God never intended for leaders to carry these burdens alone.
At C-Suite for Christ, we are breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. We are declaring boldly that leaders matter, their struggles matter, and their wholeness in Christ matters.
