About Rob Clark

Rob Clark, Jr., Chief Audit & Compliance Officer for Howard University, is a nationally recognized authority and keynote speaker in cybersecurity, risk management, internal audit, and compliance, with over 37 years of industry experience. (All this means is that, for over half of his life, he’s eaten lunch alone! Cuz, let’s face it, nobody wants to hang out with the Audit and Compliance guy!)

Rob inspires and entertains audiences with his keynote: “Cybersecurity Life-Hacks – The secret to A.U.D.I.T. your critical data and your life.” He helps demystify cybersecurity with easy-to-implement strategies that everyone can apply (even if you’re not a geek!). His 5-step A.U.D.I.T. model also applies to other areas of our lives in protecting our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.

With Rob’s background as an entertaining Master of Ceremonies and stand-up comedian, audiences are inspired, informed, and engaged!

Rob is an ordained minister through Christian Global Outreach Ministries, a small group leader, and former youth pastor. He is driven by a passion for bringing the light and love of Jesus into every encounter — whether that’s in the workplace, in the community, or in the church.

Rob is President-Elect of the National Speakers Association – DC chapter; former board member and Director of Finance for the National Speakers Association – Georgia chapter. He’s a Certified Virtual Presenter through eSpeakers; a CTM through Toastmasters International; an alumni of the Jeff Justice Stand-Up Comedy Workshoppe; and is listed in “Who’s Who in America” by the Marquis Who’s Who Publications Board 2023-2024.

He is Past President of the Association of College and University Auditors (ACUA); was the very first recipient of the ACUA Member Excellence Award; recipient of the ACUA Professional Contributions Award. He is Past President of the Institute of Internal Auditors – Atlanta chapter and recipient of the William J. Mulcahy Award for Excellence in Leadership. He was the IT Security Task Force Risk Assessment Working Group Chair for EDUCAUSE (IT security organization).

He has served in Internal Audit and Compliance leadership at M.I.T., Georgia Tech, University of Nebraska, Clark Atlanta University, and now Howard University.

He has certifications as Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional, and Certified Business Manager, (all of which just makes him a certified nerd! But he knows his stuff and audiences rave about his ability to make complex subjects easy to understand and entertaining!)
